Action Points arising out of the CNC workshop

  • Action points for COFMOW:
    • Procurement: [Refer to the Suggested strategy for the Maintenance of CNC machines, para 1)]
      • Technology: Only latest technology, machines with AC drives only, limited no. of types of systems, reliable suppliers and their Indian agents, air-dryer with the machines. Take the users experience with various systems/ suppliers into account.
      • Accessories: Only absolutely necessary ones, isolation transformer, stabiliser, etc.
      • Initial Spares: EPROM back up, initial supply for 2 years, clause for guaranteed supply of spares up to 5 years
      • Documentation: Detailed documentation as enumerated in para 1)i) of the Suggested Strategy for the Maintenance of CNC machines.
      • After-sales service: Preferably they should have repair centres in India itself.
  • Action points for Railways:
    • Do’s and Don’ts for CNC machines: Care while selecting location, installation, isolation, operation, house-keeping, etc. [Refer to the paper by COFMOW, given under para 1) of Summary of Papers presented.]
